Genesis

Back in Year Five, the MUTEX was created by Nick while he was struck with the Inventor's Gene. They tried it out, and got hacked by Yoshi, with S1r3n tagging along.

Uses of the MUTEX thus far

After the inital use, the Nick used it a few times. One time was when Nick hooked it up to Velociraptor and transported into the animal world of Kevin & Kell. Another was when Sharon, Fooker, Ki, Nick, & Dexter "created" a pocket universe to play in, causing a Crisis in Infinite MUTEXes. Currently, Nick has entered the MUTEX on the night before his wedding, with a woman who he believes is Ki, but we've found that to be false.

Kevin & Kell

In the world of Kevin & Kell, there are no humans. However, all the animals are dominant, and they have a social structure very similar to our own, with a few differences. Primary character Kevin, a 6-foot tall rabbit, runs community-based ISP HareLink. His wife, a wolf named Kell(that's right, a wolf married a rabbit), works at Herd Thinners. Kevin's adoptive daughter, a hedgehog named Lindsefarne, is a brilliant scientist and computer whiz who attends Beige University. Kell's son, Rudy, is a typical teenager. Their daugher, Coney, is still in diapers, and is a carnivorous rabbit. Rudy's girlfriend, Fiona, is a fennec fox who happens to be the one who acquired millions from singlehandedly fixing the Y2K bug. Lindsefarne's boyfriend, a bat named Fenton, works at HareLink. Fellow HareLink employees include border collie Candace as tech support and web designer Ralph, who happens to be Rudy's uncle and...

Nick turns into a rat, and Ki turns into a cat. Nick finds his counterpart on the other side, a bat named Fenton, to be very helpful in getting back to our universe. Once back on this side, we find that it's not just a virtual reality simulator anymore, it's an interdimensional transporter.

Crisis in Infinite MUTEXes

The crew transports to an alternate universe, and are superheros in their alternate identities there in a park. With wristwatches that acta as communicators or costume exchangers, they attempt to defeat The Inexplicable Speck!, who is later found to be an ally against the Warmonger, whom they do defeat.
