Surreptitious Machinations is a year-long story arc starting with Year Four.

Overview

Trudy is contacted by herself from the future, giving herself knowledge of the next 20 years. This enables her to take control of the world. This major storyline shows us just the start of that future.

Trudy causes GPF to falter, and then to fail. She commits arson and sets GPF on fire, forcing Dwayne into jail for insurance fraud by making it look like he needed the money. Since Dwayne is in jail, he can't play the key role he'd need to in helping GPF recover. The rest of the crew loses their jobs. Nick immediately gets hired by JCN, as does Trudy. Ki's Father is hit intentionally by a car driven by Chuck. Ki is therefore forced to stay at home and help her father recover. She starts interviewing for new jobs, and not finding any, starts sleuthing. She helps the police identify Chuck. Shortly after that, she is enlisted by Todd to help him gather the rest of the GPF crew. They gather Persephone, Dr. Otto Wisebottom, and then gather Sharon. They happen to run into Sharon while she's trying to track down Nick & Ki, at the request of Fooker. From there, they gather Fooker, Trent, and Dwayne. Once Fooker is enlisted, he enlists the help of the U.G.A.. From there, it is a quick trip to the Battle of Manhattan.
