Professor Wisebottom's Time Machine

In Year Two, Nick's uncle, the Dr. Otto Wisebottom created a time machine. Big enough for 3 people to fit in, it transported Fooker, Ki, and Nick backwards and forwards through time. This device was only used once in our time frame, but it left lasting impressions on the entire crew.

In what would be year 22(twenty years from then), evil Empress Trudy Trueheart used a smaller version of it to go back in time and show herself back then how to achieve global domination, detailed in Chapter 6 of Surreptitious Machinations. This remote-control-sized device could be used unobscurely.

Traveling through time is a tricky thing. What happens if you kill your own grandfather? He will have no chance to father your parent, and then you won't exist. Therefore you won't have a chance to prevent your grandfather from fathering your parent. And so the circle loops.

Todd faced this question, and decided to face it head on. He decided to use Wisebottom's time machine as a last ditch effort to stop Empress Trudy from becoming empress. How he expected to prevent it, we don't know and may never find out, but later he came back again, with the time-remote.
