Krishna’s Authentic Lemon Rice

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups rice
5 lemons (big) juice
Add salt to taste (1/4 cup - Krishna’s taste)
1/2 cup oil
1/2” ginger (peeled and chopped)
4-7 green chilies (to taste, slit open)
2/3 tsp mustard seeds
2/3 cumin seeds
handful peanuts
handful cashews
2/3 tsp urad dal (white color)
6 hot dry red peppers
2/3 to 3/4 tbsp turmeric powder
Directions

Cook rice. Place in a separate bowl.

Prepare lemons with salt. Add to rice. Set aside

Place 2qt pan on stove with 1/2 cup oil

When oil is lukewarm, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, cashews, peanuts, ginger, chilies, red hot peppers, turmeric powder (in this order) and fry it.

Add to rice and mix well.
Notes
Check Indian food stores for urad dal. If you can't find it, just skip it. It's still pretty good.
