Welcome to another amazing edition of Conspiracy Central. Today we will reveal the true identity of a character that has not only shaped the lives of the GPF crew, but also altered their destinies. Put your tray tables in their full upright position as I shockingly reveal . . .
Todd Wellington: The Gamester in Disguise
Todd Wellington - The Gamester

Instrumental to the events of Surreptitious Machinations, Todd Wellington appears to not only have saved the world from the iron heel of Empress Trudy’s machinations, but also saved the GPF gang from certain destruction. Todd’s supposed sacrifice raised compassion among Faulties to a high degree. However, these feelings of sorrow are sadly misplaced. Todd Wellington is, in fact, the Gamester in disguise! Looking into the future at the beginning of the Surreptitious Machinations story arc, the Gamester realized that there was only one way to ascertain what was really going on: to become an individual in that universe himself! By creating false memories in those around him, he led an elderly Otto Wisebottom and fiery Sidney Duncan to believe that they’d know the young teenager all their lives. Gamester-Todd only utilized Wisebottom’s time machine to add credibility to his story. He furthered his plans by slightly altering events so that he would end up battling the Empress herself! However, he underestimated the Empress’ power and was almost destroyed when returning to the future. It was only through further manipulation of the truth that he convinced Ki to help him rally the GPF crew together. In fact, Ki never truly bought the story Gamester-Todd fed her, but Gamester-Todd’s mind manipulation abilities made her believe his lies.

Everyone knows the rest of the story – up to where Gamester-Todd faded out of existence. In fact, this was just the Gamester returning to his home. His later explanations to Mischief failed to include the fact that orb containing Todd was, in reality, a storage facility for the earthly form he assumed.

Gamester-Todd later began twisting the minds of the GPF crew in the M.U.T.E.X. by appearing to Ki, pretending he had knowledge of his own existence that he wasn’t supposed to reveal. Warning Ki of future events was Gamester-Todd’s attempt to dissuade Ki from supporting Nick in his inventive endeavors. This tactic backfired recently when Nick and Ki entered the M.U.T.E.X. powered by a replica of Velociraptor. It was then that the Gamester realized his mistake, but it was too late to prevent a breach in the dimensional barrier.

To date, the Gamester has only utilized his Todd persona sparsely to slowly manipulate the events in the GPF universe. His recent failure will only provoke him to double his efforts – which could have irreparable damage to the universe as we know it.
