For the past four years, Mr. Physarum has been hiding a terrible secret. This secret has allowed Mr. Physarum inside knowledge of events he was previously unaware of . . . through Persephone! In fact, she is a mere puppet to Mr. Physarum's whims! Compassion, kindness, and sympathy are all false ploys enacted by Mr. Physarum to fool the rest of the cast. (Of course, I immediately saw through this scheme.) To make his deception complete, he fained concern after ordering his puppet into Fooker's kitchen sink. In reality, Persephone was on a reconnaissance mission to obtain more information on Mr. Physarum's true rival, Trudy. His schemes furthered by ordering Persephone to follow Ki during the events leading up to Trudy's attempt at world domination. The information Persephone gathered from Todd during these explanations of future events (she was only pretending to be asleep) told Mr. Physarum what not to do in any such attempt on his part.

The final hint of Mr. Physarum's machinations may be found in his involvement in the Wellington's Christmas celebration. Once again using Persephone, he discovered Nick's plans concerning proposing to Ki in the near future. With this information, Mr. Physarum can blackmail Nick into giving up one of his inventions to further his own goals! What these goals are remains to be seen, but they are, without a shadow of a doubt, dubious and nefarious in nature.
