The turbulent events of Surreptitious Machinations alone confirms this. But the sad truth is that Darlington is a phony! It is none other than Mr. Pete Abrams of Sluggy Freelance fame that outlines the diabolical storylines presented in GPF. His brief appearance in Surreptitious Machinations reveals his desire to unveil the truth to the world! Abrams is currently being held captive in Darlington's basement, chained to a computer to forever write the twisted plots of GPF and continue his own strip to keep up appearances.
